Martial Arts In Winston-Salem: A Way To A Better You

“Thanks for visiting. We’d love to have you as a student at our martial arts school. But first, you should learn more about us by reviewing the info on this site. I hope you find your visit valuable and I look forward to hearing from you.”

Master Kevin Pyles

“Both kids and adults rarely get an opportunity to learn to handle conflict effectively.  Kevin Pyles presents an alternative approach through teaching “Verbal Judo.”  Using words instead of actions is a learned behavior.  Kevin effectively models how to get the best results when confronted with difficult situations.”

The focus of our martial arts school in Winston-Salem NC is on physical fitness, character development and self defense, rather than fighting. Our overarching goal is in building our student’s self-esteem.

Martial Arts Class at American Martial Arts AcademyAs soon as you become a martial arts student, you join a community that works together toward improved physical strength and stamina, better focus and concentration, greater self discipline, competency in self defense and, most importantly, increased self confidence.

For us at American Martial Arts Academy, the practice of martial arts means respecting each other, encouraging and supporting each other and celebrating each other’s successes.

These values are especially important in working with children and families — the primary focus of our martial arts school in Winston-Salem NC.

We have martial arts programs for students of all ages.

For children, our emphasis is on character development and physical fitness.

With adults, our goal is to deliver all of the benefits of martial arts, including improved muscle tone, increased cardiovascular fitness, lower stress levels, increased energy, and greater flexibility.

Self defense is also emphasized, but it’s always tempered with the training on how to seek alternatives to conflict.

Each of our martial arts instructors is committed to teaching the physical skills while applying attitude-shaping exercises aimed at bringing out the best character and physical potential in each student.

We hope you become a Winston-Salem martial arts student at American Martial Arts Academy.

Dear Mr. Pyles

The students and staff at South Fork Elementary appreciate you taking the time to speak with us about safety, stranger danger and Halloween safety during our Red Ribbon Week.  They enjoyed the interactive participation.  The information shared was valuable and necessary in helping our children make good choices.  It was good for our students to see your children’s participation also.  Thank you for bringing your special guests.

The programs and activities you offer at American Martial Arts Academy certainly teach the values that will influence children and youth for a lifetime.  As you continue to reach out to the community, you can be sure that your work makes a difference and we are grateful for the service that you give.  Thank you also for working with our school systems positive behavior development program.  I hope that the students will take advantage of the opportunities your organization provides.
